Real rates, updated July 2026
How much does fencing cost on the Gold Coast?
These are Team 247's actual current rates, the same numbers our online quote wizard runs on, not a marketing range. Prices refresh automatically when our rates change, so what you read here is what we charge.
Current fencing prices
Standard height is 1.8m. The range on each line reflects site conditions: a flat block with easy access sits at the bottom, slopes, rock and tight access push toward the top.
| Item | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Colorbond fence, 1.8m standard | $128 to $155 per metre | Supplied and installed, full colour range |
| Timber paling fence, 1.8m standard | $133 to $161 per metre | Butted paling; see upgrades for lapped and capped |
| Height upgrade to 2.1m | +$30 per metre | Colorbond or timber |
| Lapped and capped upgrade | +$45 per metre | Timber, premium finish |
| Raked to slope | +$35 per metre | Fence follows the fall of the land |
| Concrete sleeper under fence | +$30 per metre | Keeps soil and mulch off the fence line |
| Old fence removal and disposal | $35 per metre | Itemised in your quote |
| Pedestrian gate (about 1m) | from $850 | Driveway and pool gates priced in your written quote |
Every job gets a free, fixed written quote before work starts. Retaining walls are quoted onsite because engineering and ground conditions drive the price.
What that looks like on a real job
Typical side boundary
20 metres of 1.8m Colorbond, no old fence to remove: about $2,560 to $3,100.
Full back fence with removal
30 metres of 1.8m Colorbond plus tearing out the old timber fence: about $4,860 to $5,850.
Premium timber street front
15 metres of lapped and capped timber: roughly $2,640 to $3,195, and short runs price a little higher per metre.
What changes the price
Slope
Sloped blocks need raked panels or stepped runs, and sometimes a sleeper under the fence to hold the grade.
Access
If materials and machinery can get to the fence line easily the job runs faster and cheaper than a tight rear boundary.
Ground
Rock, old concrete footings and tree roots slow down post holes. This is the single most common reason two identical fences price differently.
Old fence
Tear-out and dump fees are real costs, so we itemise them rather than hiding them in the metre rate.
Length
Short runs cost more per metre because setup and travel are the same regardless of length.
Boundary agreements
Shared boundary fences in QLD are usually split 50/50 with your neighbour under the Neighbourhood Disputes Act. We quote it so you can hand your neighbour their half in writing.
Cost guide FAQs
How much does Colorbond fencing cost per metre on the Gold Coast?
Around $128 to $155 per metre supplied and installed at the standard 1.8m height, based on Team 247's current rates (July 2026). Where your job lands in that range depends on slope, access and ground conditions, which is why the written quote is always fixed before work starts.
How much does timber fencing cost per metre on the Gold Coast?
Around $133 to $161 per metre supplied and installed for a standard 1.8m paling fence. Lapped and capped or raked-to-slope styles add to the per-metre rate.
Does the price include removing the old fence?
Old fence removal and disposal is priced at about $35 per metre and itemised in your quote, so you can see exactly what the tear-out costs rather than having it hidden in the metre rate.
Why do short fences cost more per metre?
Setup, travel and crew time are much the same whether the run is 8 metres or 40, so short runs carry a higher per-metre price. The quote wizard prices this automatically.
Are these prices exact?
They are real current rates, not marketing numbers, but every block is different. Slope, access, rock, existing footings and boundary complications all move the price, so treat this guide as your ballpark and the free written quote as the fixed figure.
